About this property
This classic 1940's Queenslander has good bones. The piers are all concrete and appear to be very sturdy. The roof is in good order, and the bearers and joists are all hardwood with lovely tongue and grooved timber floors. This house is in a quiet street in East Innisfail, within a very easy walk to the town centre. The house is built at the back of the block and is well out of the flood zone. The kitchen is in very good order, and the soaring ceiling heights create an awesome feeling of space. There are three bedrooms and two living areas, with the old school bathroom being accessed via the undercover rear patio. At one time, the home boasted a wide front verandah and staircase up to the front door, but sadly, this needs replacing. The upside is you could build a full-width front veranda with a classically beautiful butterfly staircase, which would create a sense of grandeur and elegance that cannot be found in the modern home. Underneath is plenty of space for cars, bikes and hobbies with plenty of ceiling height. The block is just over 1000 sqm ( 1/4 acre) and, with the location of the current home, lends itself to a second residence in the front (STCA). This home has potential oozing from every hardwood weatherboard and would not take a lot of work to be ready to rent. With a good refresh, it would easily achieve in excess of $400 per week. Roll up your sleeves and be prepared to reap the rewards. Contact Michael Skuse
