There's no train station within Mullaloo itself, so most residents rely on car travel or bus services linking to Whitfords train station in the neighbouring area, making it a suburb better suited to those comfortable driving rather than commuters wanting a station on their doorstep.

The coastal position also means Ocean Reef Road and the beachfront roads can get busy on warm weekends, but for a suburb this close to the water, traffic within Mullaloo itself stays relatively contained to the main arterials.

Families are well served locally, with Mullaloo Beach Primary School and Mullaloo Heights Primary School both within the suburb, giving younger children a genuine walk-to-school option in many pockets.
