About this property

FIRST MORTGAGE VALUATION REPORT for $2.5M available on request. YOUR OWN FAMOUS ISLAND with the best 360-degree view ever, at a price similar to an upmarket 2-3 bedroom unit in big cities. DA APPLICATION WAS IN PROGRESS. Ninth Island is a freehold island situated in the Bass Strait between Melbourne and Tasmania. There are reportedly nearly 5,000 islands around Tasmania, but only a dozen are freehold. Ninth Island is about 1.3 km long, 550 meters wide, and covers 40 acres (160,390 square meters). It is famous for 20,000 birds and penguins. You can build your own pre-made eco-villa with a solar system & rain water on this private island plus a pontoon, or higher density with multiple rooms for tourism/Airbnb, then reap the benefits of capital appreciation as the worth of the completed project could be potentially worth much more. From the vineyards in northern Tasmania, Ninth Island is clearly visible. Tasmania's most famous wine is named after this Island. The island is a paradise for wild animals, including penguins, dolphins, seals, and numerous native birds. Princess Mary of Denmark's grandfather's boat was wrecked in the Bass Strait, and the survivors reached Ninth Island and were rescued. Ninth Island is a short helicopter flight from Bridport or Launceston or 12km by boat from the mainland pier at Bridport, about a one-hour drive from Launceston. Bridport is famous for housing two of the top three golf courses in Australia: Barnbougle Dunes and Barnbougle Lost Farm. The no. 1 public access golf course, Cape Wickham on King Island, is on the left, and Waterhouse Island on the right sold quickly some time ago for $5.5m.
