About this property

Team Kantor have pleasure in bringing this iconic Swan Valley property to the market. The Vineyard Founded in 1998 and situated on 2.96 hectares (7.314 acres) on the corner of Great Northern Highway and Memorial Avenue in Baskerville, Harris Organic Wine and Spirits is a dry-grown vineyard (no irrigation) and is the only certified organic winery in the Swan Valley. In the vineyard organic practices have been followed since inception in 1998 and later Certified Organic in 2006. The winery uses minimal intervention methods and avoids synthetic chemicals, in line with Australian Organic standards. The property is powered by a 4.8kw solar photovoltaic system with scheme water. Winemaking is 100% on site, fermented in a variety of stainless steel and concrete tanks. Settling and maturation occur in either stainless steel tanks or oak barrels. Once ready, the bottling facility has the capability of 200 bottles per hour and are sealed by either cork or Stelvin capping system. The winery includes a 1200L air bag press for juice extraction. 10 stainless steel vats are used to assist with the fermentation process and storage. A full plant and equipment list will be provided in the Information Memorandum. The product range includes table wines such as Verdelho, Chardonnay, Rose, Malbec and Shiraz as well as a large range of fortified wines which include Muscat, Muscadelle, Verdelho, Pedro Ximenez and Shiraz. The Distillery A purpose built Distillery Facility houses a 300L Pot Still for the production of brandy spirit. The unaged brandy (eau de vie) is then re distilled to produce neutral brandy not only for fortified wines, but also for vodka and gin. A 6kw refrigeration unit with a stainless steel cooling plate helps regulate the temperature in the stainless steel vats during fermentation and storage. The distillery produces some amazing spirits including Organic Brandy, 10 yr old XO Brandy, Organic PISCO (an unwooded brandy) & Organic Vodka. All products are available through the cellar door or sold online. The Cellar Door Double French Doors open into a cosy tasting room and reception area that seats 8 guests however is licensed for up to 40 patrons. Here you can enjoy the "fruits" of the Harris Family's expertise in winemaking and spirit production and believe me you won't be disappointed. Underground Cellar The 164 square metre underground cellar, with a 4m ceiling height excavated into the soil, provides natural temperature control for the barrel ageing process and long term storage. It is also a wonderful place to host a tasting or a luncheon!!. The Residence A double brick and tile family home comprising 3 bedrooms plus office/study and 1 bathroom was constructed in 1969, partly renovated some years later and provides a comfortable place to put your feet up after a day in the vineyard!
