About this property

Expressions of Interest offers closing on Tuesday 30th of June at 5 PM unless sold prior. We love Barkly Street, but why listen to us when you can hear it straight from the owners? "Harley, our wired hair pointer couldn't be happier. Straight out the front door, there's Temple Park, a little further and you hit the huge rambling bush space of Royal Park, and then there's Princess Park for big trees, grass, waggy friends and space. Waking up to the dawn light across the internal garden is a great way to start the day. Somehow, the architects have made our space feel larger than it might seem on paper. Maybe it's the large connection between the two levels, the openness, the change in proportions as you walk through the spaces or the interaction of light and outlooks. There's definitely some magic happening. The shifting natural light as it moves through the interior space throughout the seasons has been an unexpected joy for us. The way the winter sun stretches far into the living space during a cold day. It just warms your mood. The location is close enough to Sydney Road but far enough away. Close enough to Sydney Roads eclectic energy but far enough away to escape it. After Sydney Road's energy, there's a real sense of peace and calm that settles on you when you return home. The inside temperature stays so constant, we've had to lose the doona. Small material elements lift the overall experience, the custom folded dining table pendant, reclaimed timbers, natural finished brass fittings, full height doors, cool terrazzo stone, rich green sound absorbing wool carpet and windows that with a flick of a handle become doors. The healthy use of recycled hardwood in the island bench and floors gives a sense of relaxed, warm charm of time already lived. We rarely have to put the heating on; the house is very eco-friendly. Even in summer, if the air conditioning is needed, you know there's the massive array of solar on the roof that's generating your power. The low-density design of 388 Barkly Street helps build a real sense of community; it has a human scale. You don't feel like you're one of many in a sardine tin waiting for the lift. There's depth to the building; it has real history, a 1930s textile manufacturer's warehouse, a story that's part of Brunswick's industrial fabric. You feel it every time you return; you feel like you belong. Cheers, Chris and Simone" More to love about residence 102: - Breathe Architecture design - Light and bright northerly aspect - Sustainable living 8-star NatHERS rating - 100% electric, fossil-free - EV connection ready - Separate storage room - 37kW solar array - Heat pump hot water - Ceiling fans - A small community of only 11 residences - Heritage red-brick facade
