Yeronga's day-to-day life revolves around its riverside parks, the local sporting clubs and a handful of neighbourhood cafes and eateries that give the suburb a relaxed, unhurried character. For a bigger night out or a wider spread of restaurants and bars, residents typically head next door to Annerley or Fairfield, or a little further into West End and the CBD, both an easy commute away.

Everyday shopping is generally handled at nearby Moorooka and Annerley, which offer supermarkets, specialty grocers and the well-known Moorooka "Asian precinct" for produce and dining. Getting around

The suburb also benefits from bus routes and good arterial road connections via Fairfield Road and the nearby Ipswich Motorway, while its riverside position means Tennyson and the river bikeway are popular for cycling and walking commutes or weekend recreation.

Families are well served locally, with Yeronga State School and Yeronga State High School both based in the suburb, alongside St Sebastian's Primary School for Catholic education. This local schooling offer, combined with parks and river access, is a big part of why Yeronga continues to appeal strongly to families with children.
