There's no train line through Greenwell Point, so most residents drive to Nowra for wider transport connections, including regional bus services and onward links up and down the coast. The village itself is compact and easy to get around on foot or by bike, with the river and its jetties forming the natural focal points, but reaching Wollongong or Sydney means a drive of well over an hour via the Princes Highway.

Neighbouring Pyree and Orient Point are minutes away by car, and the road out towards Culburra Beach is a popular scenic drive along the water.
