The other defining piece of infrastructure is the passenger ferry across Broken Bay to Palm Beach, a popular and practical way to reach Sydney's northern beaches without the long drive around. Within the peninsula itself, things are compact enough that many trips to the shops, beach or school can be done on foot or by bike.
