In 1932 Passiflora Plantations bought 400 acres including the title where Trofeo Estate was established. The famous red brick building housing the Trofeo Estate cellar door and restaurant was built circa 1934 1948 The property was purchased by a member of the Seppelt family who planted Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling at the back of what is still to this day part of the Trofeo Estate Cabernet Sauvignon block. Circa 1955 the property was purchased by Ken Broadhurst (related to the Seabrook family) and was run by Doug Seabrook, (a famous wine merchant family in Australia) who in turn produced wine there until 1967. In the 1980's the land was purchased by Bob Pieme, who created 5 Sons Estate and planted some 50 acres of vines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.
